유럽중앙은행(ECB)이 기준금리를 0%로 동결했다.
ECB는 22일(현지시간) 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 위기를 해결하기 위한 돈 풀기의 규모나 속도는 그대로 유지하겠다는 방침을 밝혔다.
ECB는 이날 독일 프랑크푸르트에서 통화정책회의를 열고 기준금리를 현행 0%로 유지하고, 예금금리와 한계대출금리를 각각 -0.5%와 0.25%로 유지하기로 결정했다.
ECB는 통화정책 결정문에서 "통화정책회의는 물가상승률이 지속해서 목표한 균형치에 다가갈 수 있도록 모든 적절한 수단을 동원할 준비가 돼 있다"고 언급했다.
코로나19 확산 사태의 경제적 충격을 막기 위해 도입한 팬데믹긴급매입프로그램(PEPP)의 채권매입 규모는 내년 3월 말까지 1조8500억 유로로 유지하겠다는 방침이다.
