LG Uplus announced on Sunday that it implemented the ‘ixi Spam Filter’ system in its mobile network to combat telecommunications fraud caused by illegal spam messages. The new system is designed to filter out spam messages before they reach customers, using an AI model that has been trained on spam reports provided by the Korea Internet & Security Agency.
An LG Uplus spokesperson said that the ixi Spam Filter has achieved a spam filtering accuracy rate of over 95 percent since its initial implementation. The system also features real-time monitoring capabilities to detect new types of spam messages as they emerge.
