SuperM’s debut album scores No. 1 on Billboard 200 albums chart in first week

New K-pop act SuperM has zoomed up to No. 1 on Billboard 200 albums chart.

‘SuperM: The 1st Mini Album,’ the first mini-album of SuperM, sold 168,000 equivalent album units in the first week since Oct. 4 release to touch the peak at the Billboard 200 albums chart, according to Nielsen Music. Among them, 164,000 were in traditional album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums.

The new boy group SuperM dubbed as K-pop Avengers is selectively comprised of seven members from popular K-pop acts - SHINee’s Taemin, EXO’s Kai and Baekhyun, and NCT’s Mark, Taeyong, Ten and Lucas. Its first mini-alum titled ‘SuperM: The 1st Mini Album’ released on Oct. 4 includes 5 songs: "Jopping" (title), "I Can't Stand the Rain," "2 Fast," "Super Car," and "No Manners."

SuperM made American television debut through NBC popular talk show ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ last week.
