Samsung Electronics will unveil its much-anticipated Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Fold 2, and other flagship mobile devices at a virtual unpack event in early August.
Samsung Electronics is now considering Aug. 5 as the official launch date for the devices at its Unpacked 2020 event, which will go all digital because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Korean tech giant said in a statement on Monday.
Samsung Electronics usually has unpacked its newest version in its signature phone-tablet in New York by inviting industry officials and journalists every August. But this year’s event will go virtual like other smartphone makers like LG Electronics and Apple that already opted for a digital event due to the global pandemic and the turmoil in the U.S.
The Galaxy Note 20 series may debut alongside the Galaxy Fold 2 as a successor to the Galaxy Fold, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Watch 3 during the Aug. 5 event.

The Galaxy Note 20 series will include two models – a regular model with a 6.7-inch display and a 4,300mAh battery and a plus model (Ultra) with a 6.9-inch display and a 4,500mAh battery.
It also features Qualcomm’s under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, the 3D Sonic Sensor, whose scanning area is 17 times larger than before, allowing for increased security via simultaneous two-finger authentication, and increased speed and ease of use.
Like the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung’s flagship smartphone for the first half, the Galaxy Note 20 series will have a punch-hole display in the top center area with multiple cameras arranged in a rectangle on the back. The Galaxy Note 20 Plus is expected to carry a 108-megapixel main shooter with a 12-megapixel wide angle camera and a 13-megapixel periscope style 10X zoom lens.
