South Korea’s top liquor maker HiteJinro Co. announced Thursday that its beer brand, Terra, has reached a milestone with cumulative sales exceeding 5.08 billion bottles.
The company noted that this volume, based on 330-milliliter bottles, translates to 28 bottles sold every second, totaling 1.67 billion liters.
Terra, launched in March 2019, achieved sales of 1 million cases in just 39 days. Over the past five years, the brand’s sales jumped by an annual average of 26 percent.
The recent launch of Terra Light in July has also contributed to the brand’s growth. Terra’s household market sales during July and August rose 13 percent versus a year ago.
Within a month of its launch, Terra Light became the top-selling light beer in hypermarkets nationwide.
Citing an analysis by market research firm Nielsen Korea, HiteJinro noted that it had widened its sales lead over the second-ranked brand by more than 1.5 times as of October.
