고(故) 이건희 삼성 회장의 유산에 대한 상속세 신고·납부 시한이 열흘 앞으로 다가온 가운데 다음주 초 삼성 일가가 상속 내용과 절차 등을 공식 발표한다. 이날 발표에는 최근 미술계의 관심이 뜨거운 '이건희 컬렉션'의 기증 방안을 포함해 이 회장 소유의 주식 배분 방안과 사회 환원 계획이 폭넓게 담길 것이라는 관측이 나온다.
The owner family of Samsung Group next week will detail their plans with the fortune inherited from their father Lee Kun-hee who died in October as the richest man in Korea including the division of his shareholdings, payment of inheritance taxes and donation.
20일 재계에 따르면 이재용 삼성전자 부회장 등 유족은 최근 이건희 회장의 주식과 미술품과 부동산 등 유산 배분과 상속세 납부 방식에 대한 조율을 사실상 마무리한 것으로 알려졌다.
The heirs including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jay Y. Lee have reached consensus on the plans and procedures on inheritance dues that could near 13 trillion won ($12 billion) and possibly donating Lee's famous art collection estimated to value near 3 trillion won.
삼성전자는 유족을 대신해 다음주 초 삼성 일가의 유산 상속 내용을 공개할 예정이다.
Samsung Electronics will announce the scheme early next week on behalf of the family before the deadline for reporting inheritance taxes, according to sources.
유족이 납부해야 할 상속세는 주식 지분만 11조366억원에 달하고 미술품·부동산·현금 등을 포함하면 총 납부세액이 12조∼13조원에 달할 것으로 업계는 추정한다.

감정가만 2조5천억∼3조원에 달하는 것으로 알려진 총 1만3천 점의 '이건희 컬렉션'의 일부는 기증 쪽으로 가닥을 잡고 세부 계획을 공개할 예정이다. 기증 규모는 1조∼2조원 가량으로 알려진 가운데 국보나 보물 등 문화재는 국립현대미술관·국립중앙박물관 등에, 유명 미술 작가의 작품은 지방 미술관과 기증 절차를 논의 중인 것으로 전해졌다.
Sources projected that up to 2 trillion won worth of Lee's artworks would be donated to the public with national treasures and cultural assets to be given to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and National Museum of Korea and famous art pieces to regional galleries.
재계에선 이번 발표에 삼성 일가의 사회 환원 계획도 포함될 것이라는 전망이 나온다. 대표적인 것이 2008년 특검의 삼성 비자금 수사 이후 이건희 회장이 약속한 사재 출연이다.
The announcement is also expected to include a plan to fulfill the late chairman's pledge to donate over 1 trillion won of his wealth for charity made in 2008 during special prosecutor investigation.
사재 출연을 한다면 방식은 이건희 회장 명의의 재단 설립 가능성이 점쳐진다. 별도 재단 설립 없이 삼성생명공익재단 또는 삼성문화재단 등 기존 삼성 재단에 기부할 수도 있다.
The family is widely expected to establish a new foundation under the late chairman's name for wealth donation. Other options include donations to the groups’ existing foundations such as Samsung Life Public Foundation.
이에 대해 삼성 측은 "이재용 부회장 등 가족이 결정할 사안으로 확인할 수 없다"고 했다.
Samsung Group declined to confirm the family inheritance tax payment plan saying that it is a private matter.

이건희 회장이 소유한 삼성 주식에 대한 배분 방안도 다음주 공개된다. 이건희 회장은 삼성전자 주식 4.18%와 삼성전자 우선주 0.08%, 삼성생명(20.76%), 삼성물산(2.88%), 삼성SDS(0.01%) 지분을 갖고 있다.
The announcement next week will also include how Samsung shares owned by the late Lee would be distributed. The late chairman owns 4.18 percent of Samsung Electronics shares, 0.08 percent in Samsung Electronics preferred shares, 20.76 percent in Samsung Life Insurance shares, 2.88 percent in Samsung C&T shares, and 0.01 percent in Samsung SDS shares.
삼성의 지배구조는 크게 '이재용 부회장→삼성물산→삼성생명→삼성전자'로 이어지는 순환 출자구조인데 이 부회장은 현재 삼성물산은 지분 17.33%를 보유한 최대 주주인 반면, 삼성생명(0.06%)과 삼성전자(0.7%)의 보유 지분은 미미하다
Samsung Group, under cross-shareholding structure, is controlled largely by Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee, who has control over Samsung C&T, then Samsung Life Insurance, and Samsung Electronics. The younger Lee is the largest shareholder of Samsung C&T with 17.33 percent ownership while his presence is relatively small in Samsung Life Insurance (0.06 percent) and Samsung Electronics (0.7 percent).
법정 비율로 상속받으면 홍라희 여사에게 4.5분의 1.5(33.33%)의 가장 많은 지분이 돌아가지만, 이보다는 이 부회장의 지배력을 높이는 방안으로 지분 정리가 될 것으로 보인다.
Under legal terms, the widow Hong Ra-hee is entitled for the biggest share. Samsung is expected to settle the shares so that the younger Lee has tighter grip over the conglomerate.
