Ensemble 7-1, 149×149㎝, Korean paper Natural dyes, 2007 Time just passed by as a long time flied away. I am still listening to music. I am in search of music as if I were on an expedition to strange places. Some say that is nothing but an indulgence, but music is a sort oi the unearthing or expedition to me.
긴 세월 스치듯 지나가버렸다. 나는 여전히 음악을 듣고 있다. 더 깊게, 깊숙이, 낯선 곳을 향해, ‘탐험’하듯 음악을 찾아 나선다. 어떤 이들은 이것을 ‘탐닉’이라고 얕잡아보기도 하지만 나에게 음악은 발굴이거나 탐험이다.

Ensemble 창호-4, 130×160㎝, Korean paper Natural dyes, 2006 Park Chul was still painting his ensemble. His paradox became even more profound. The Dakjoingi(paper) that he uses for his artistic creation represents even piano and wind instrument, as well as string instrument like violin.
한지작가 박철(HANJI ARTIST PARK CHUL, 박철 화백)도 여전히 ENSEMBLE을 그리고 있다. 그의 역설도 더 깊어졌다. 박철(朴哲)이 연출하는 닥종이 무대엔 바이올린과 같은 현(弦) 뿐 아니라 관(管)과 piano까지 출연한다.

Ensemble 와당, 138×138㎝, Korean Paper, Natural dyes, 2006 The ecstasy permeated in the nature at Dakjongi(paper) is dreaming of hatching. It is not the matching between straw mat and violin. It is the ecstasy between one musical instrument and another musical instrument.
닥종이의 생태에 스며들어있는 황홀은 어느덧 부화(孵化)를 꿈꾸고 있다. 이제 멍석과 바이올린의 matching이 아니다. 악기와 악기들의 ecstasy다.

Ensemble 7-36, 112×200㎝, Korean paper Natural dyes, 2007 The ensemble of Park Chul evolved into the shell mount of musical instrument. Again. l feel the urge to explore more about Park Chul. I will find out the secret of very romantic musical instruments.
박철(서양화가 박철,박철 작가)의 ENSEMBLE들은 악기패총(貝塚)으로 진화한다. 다시 박철을 탐험하고 싶은 본능을 느낀다. 거기서 나는 아주 낭만적인 악기들의 비밀을 캐낼 테다.
