South Korea’s Lotte Rental Co., which runs the nation’s No. 1 rental car brand Lotte Rent-A-Car, has branched out to Thailand.
Lotte Rental said Thursday it opened up Lotte Rent-A-Car Thailand Co. starting with a fleet of 400 vehicles. It expects to achieve revenue of 12 billion won ($10.7 million) in the first year.
The Korean company will first target Korean expats, tourists, and enterprises. It began tour and shuttle bus service on 130 vehicles to shopping and hotel districts in Bangkok. It will add another 100 vans this year. The firm also launched a chauffeured rental service for companies and schools.
Lotte Rental that tapped into Vietnam in 2008 runs rental business in Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Danang.
