LINYI, China Jan 22, 2026 /AsiaNet=YONHAP/-- In the depths of winter, as the Chinese New Year approaches, the festive mood grows stronger. At the "Zhuge Liang's Fertile Land" bun workshop in Zhuanbu Town, Yinan County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, warmth fills the air. Freshly steamed artisan buns, releasing a rich wheat aroma, are swiftly packed and transported by local villagers. With deft fingers, they adorn fish-shaped dough with vibrant red "fu" (good fortune) characters, kneading New Year's hopes into every piece of dough.

This workshop is part of the "Common Prosperity Workshop" program initiated by the Yinan County Wisdom Sage Hometown Rural Tourism Development Cooperative, serving as a key driver for local income growth. Leveraging Zhuanbu Town's cultural heritage as the birthplace of Zhuge Liang, the cooperative established the "Zhuge Liang's Fertile Land" brand. Adhering to an "additive-free, all-natural" philosophy, it has built an integrated industrial chain spanning "wheat cultivation, stone-grinding, bun production, and market sales." This model has shifted the local economy from raw grain sales to value-added processing, significantly enhancing the economic value of wheat.

The workshop's buns go beyond traditional shapes, incorporating natural fruit and vegetable juices to innovate flavors such as pumpkin, black rice, and red date. Designs include auspicious motifs like fish and longevity peaches, which not only preserve the intangible cultural heritage of Yimeng-style floral steamed buns but also cater to festive market demands. Details like dotting fish-shaped buns with "fu" characters and festive packaging seamlessly blend folk customs with holiday symbolism, turning each bun into a carrier of local culture and New Year spirit.

Today, the "Zhuge Liang's Fertile Land" Common Prosperity Workshop stands as a vivid example of Yinan County's efforts to integrate culture with industry and advance common prosperity. Through the humble bun, it connects traditional farming culture, intangible heritage skills, and rural revitalization, transforming nostalgic New Year memories into tangible income and a promising future.
