The ground forces–focused defense exhibition KADEX 2026 has secured official support from the Ministry of National Defense and the Republic of Korea Army, triggering a surge in applications for overseas national pavilions, including those from Saudi Arabia, the United States, and India.
The Association of the Republic of Korea Army (AROKA), chaired by General (Ret.) Kwon Oh-sung, announced that the Ministry of National Defense and the Republic of Korea Army have officially approved its support for the Korea Army International Defense Industry Exhibition 2026 (KADEX 2026). With this backing, KADEX 2026 is expected to gain further momentum in inviting official overseas delegations and international defense buyers.
In response to increased booth demand from participating companies compared to the 2024 edition, KADEX 2026 will significantly expand its exhibition scale. The total exhibition area will grow from 37,600sqm to over 40,000sqm, while the number of booths will increase from 1,432 to more than 2,000. The number of participating companies is projected to rise from 365 to over 500, with international exhibitors increasing from 21 to more than 100.

The most significant change for KADEX 2026 is its globalization strategy, centered on the expansion of national pavilions.
Saudi Arabia has confirmed participation with a 600sqm national pavilion, led by GAMI (General Authority for Military Industries), the Kingdom's defense acquisition authority. This represents the minimum scale required for priority booth allocation, with further expansion under consideration. The pavilion will focus on promoting Saudi defense companies, supporting official Saudi delegations, facilitating government-to-government engagement, and advancing cooperation with Korean defense firms.
The Indian Ministry of Defence has once again confirmed early participation in KADEX, following its involvement in the previous edition. The Indian pavilion will expand from 108sqm in 2024 to 200sqm in 2026—nearly doubling in size. Indian defense officials and participating companies cited KADEX's venue at Gyeryongdae Army Headquarters as a key advantage, providing direct access to senior military leadership and key decision-makers.
The United States has also confirmed its participation through an official national pavilion. The U.S. Pavilion will be operated by Kallman Worldwide, a leading exhibition management firm specializing in the defense and aerospace sectors. With extensive experience managing U.S. pavilions at major defense exhibitions—including AUSA, Dubai Airshow, and Farnborough International Airshow—Kallman Worldwide brings a broad global network. Participation is expected to include not only major U.S. defense contractors but also small and mid-sized companies and startups with innovative technologies.
In addition, Türkiye is preparing a national pavilion comprising 180sqm, while defense exhibition agents from Western and Eastern Europe are reportedly considering participation through national pavilions or individual company exhibits.
KADEX 2026 will significantly expand the scale of invited official overseas delegations. KADEX 2024 recorded its largest turnout to date, welcoming delegations from 27 countries. Building on this success, KADEX 2026 aims to host delegations from more than 50 countries. To support this goal, a survey of participating companies will be conducted in January 2026 to identify priority target countries, followed by coordinated delegation invitations in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Republic of Korea Army Headquarters, and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
The number of international buyers is also set to increase substantially, from 2,161 at KADEX 2024 to over 5,000 at KADEX 2026. The KADEX Organizing Committee plans to strengthen buyer recruitment by building a global buyer database through participation in major international defense exhibitions, while also providing support—including accommodation and transportation—for overseas buyers invited by participating companies.
Official procurement and export consultation meetings will be held on-site, bringing together overseas delegations, buyers, and exhibitors to actively promote exports of Korean defense systems (K-Defense).
Heo Wook-gu, Secretary General of the Association of the Republic of Korea Army, stated, "Building on the success of KADEX 2024, KADEX 2026 will make a decisive leap forward as a truly global defense platform. We will continue to develop KADEX into an international defense industry hub where defense companies and buyers from around the world come together."
KADEX 2026 will take place from October 6 (Tuesday) to October 10 (Saturday), 2026, at the Gyeryongdae, home to the headquarters of the Republic of Korea Army, Navy, and Air Force. Applications for participation are currently open and will be accepted until January 31, 2026.
