Nvidia Corp., the world’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor manufacturer, will supply a large volume of AI chips to major South Korean companies.

According to sources from the business community on Wednesday, Nvidia has signed new supply contracts to provide AI semiconductors to major Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics Co., Hyundai Motor Group, SK Group, and Naver Corp. Details are expected to be announced on Friday.

In particular, Nvidia will supply key AI chips to Hyundai Motor Group, which plans to utilize them to enhance its technologies in autonomous driving, software-defined vehicles (SDVs), robotics, and other future mobility fields.

The overall platform supply contract, including the semiconductors supplied to Hyundai, is reportedly worth several trillion won.

Nvidia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang confirmed these plans.

“Samsung, SK, Hyundai, LG, Naver, if you just look across the entire Korean ecosystem, every one of the companies are deep friends of mine and very good partners,” Huang told reporters on the sidelines of the company’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC) in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, local time.

“We‘ll have some announcements that will be really, really delightful to the people of Korea and really delightful to President Trump, but I’ll save it for a few more days,“ he added.

Huang is also scheduled to hold separate meetings in Korea on Thursday with Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Jay Y. Lee, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chairman Euisun Chung, and Ha Jung-woo, senior presidential secretary for AI policy and future planning.
