미국의 올 1분기 가계 저축률이 직전 추정치 3.3%에서 7.2%로 훌쩍 뛰었다.이런 수치는 1990년이래 평균 6.4%를 상회할 뿐 아니라 근래 최저점이었던 2005년 2.5%에 비해서는 3배 가까운 도약이다.이 같은 가계 저축률은 미국 경제(하강 국면)에 튼튼한 방어벽이 될수 있다.월스트리트저널 2018년 8월 18일.

The personal saving rate of the first quarter rose to 7.2% from the 3.3% estimated previously.The new number exceeds the 6.4% average rate recorded since 1990 and is almost three times the most recent low of 2.5% in 2005.The rpersonal saving rate can be a sruprising bulwark for the U.S. economy.
