(프랑크푸르트 암 마인, 독일 2016년 9월 23일 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) 뒤셀도르프에서 열린 독일화학산업협회(German Chemical Industry Association, VCI) 연례총회에서 Dr. Kurt Bock이 VCI 차기 회장으로 선출됐다. Bock은 BASF SE, Ludwigshafen 이사회 의장이며, 2011년 가을부터 VCI 행정위원회와 이사회 임원으로 활약했다. 그의 2년 임기는 이달 24일부터 시작되고, 조례에 따라 2018년 연례총회까지 이어질 예정이다.
신임회장 Bock은 “화학과 제약 산업은 급격한 변화를 맞고 있다. 이들 산업에서는 세계화와 디지털화가 생산과 사업 모델을 바꾸고 있다”며 “이와 때를 맞춰 신생 및 개발 도상국의 인구가 빠르게 증가하고, 지속가능한 개발에 대한 필요성이 제기되고 있어 새로운 솔루션이 요구된다”고 말했다. 이어 그는 “이와 같은 변혁 과정은 경쟁력과 혁신을 도모하고, 독일의 산업 기반을 강화할 수 있는 큰 잠재력을 제공한다”면서 “화학과 제약 업체들은 책임감 있는 방식으로 필요한 기술 및 사회적 변화를 도모할 전문지식과 아이디어를 보유하고 있다. 지속가능한 전향적인 ‘Chemie 4.0’을 바탕으로, 번성과 삶의 질 향상에 중대하게 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 이 기회를 실현할 수 있는 최선의 방법은 산업, 정치 및 시민 사회 내 모든 이해관계자가 힘을 모으는 것”이라고 말했다.

Kurt Bock is the Next VCI President

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany, September 23, 2016/PRNewswire/ -- The Annual General Meeting of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI) in Dusseldorf has elected Dr. Kurt Bock as the VCI's next president. Bock is Chairman of the Executive Board of BASF SE, Ludwigshafen and has been a member of the VCI executive council and board since fall 2011. His two-year term begins on September 24, 2016 and runs as stipulated in the by-laws until the 2018 annual general meeting.
